As a result, truck matts are usually designed with higher attention to structural reinforcement rather than visual appearance alone.

Material density plays a key role in performance. A truck matts set made from low-density PVC may feel soft initially, but repeated compression in pedal zones can gradually reduce rebound performance. In commercial use, truck matts must maintain shape stability under consistent load, especially in areas where drivers frequently press the accelerator and brake pedals. This is why rebound recovery, abrasion resistance, and edge rigidity are important production factors.

Edge structure also influences long-term usability. A truck matts design with weak border reinforcement may experience curling or lifting due to vibration and foot movement inside the cabin. Once edges lose flat contact with the floor, stability decreases during driving. Temperature variation further affects performance, as heat can soften material surfaces while cold conditions may reduce flexibility.

Surface texture affects both cleaning behavior and grip performance. Deep grooves in truck matts help trap dust and water, while flatter surfaces are easier to clean but may allow more movement of debris. Heel pad areas are typically the first to show wear because of repeated foot pressure during driving operations.
